Skateboarding adopted this tube decades ago and never gave it back. Griptape eats the ollie side of every skate shoe; a smeared layer of black goo over the suede takes the abuse instead, and stretches a shoe’s life from weeks to months.

The ollie-side layer

Every ollie drags the outside of the shoe across griptape designed to shred. A worked-in layer over the flick zone becomes the surface the grip attacks, and boarders have kept shoes alive this way for generations.

Right for skate suede

Skate shoes are suede and glue by design, and this formula bonds to both. Work it into the fibers rather than laying it on top, and the layer moves with the shoe through every flick.

Session-ready timing

Coat the shoes after the evening session and the layer is ready for the next day’s. The overnight set fits a skater’s schedule better than any repair product that asks for a week.

Reapply, don’t retire

The point was never to make a skate shoe immortal — it was to choose when it dies. Refreshing the layer when it scuffs white keeps a broken-in pair going long past its natural lifespan.
